Supporting Clubs: Caisse d’Épargne Outfits 92 Amateur Handball Clubs Over Two Seasons

Handball is a contact sport that emphasizes teamwork and camaraderie, bringing together people of all ages—from BabyHand to senior teams. Caisse d’Épargne wanted to support those who keep the sport alive every day through its “Utile aux clubs” initiative.

A Bank That Has Always Supported Sports

Founded in 1818, Caisse d’Épargne is a cooperative bank that has always contributed to regional development. Since 2015, it has been a major partner of the FFHandball and the French national teams. As a Premium Partner of Paris 2024 alongside the BPCE Group, it has also built 16 handball courts as part of the Games’ legacy.

From three regions to all of France

During its first season, in 2025, Utile aux clubs supported 47 clubs in three regions, all located within 10 km of a Caisse d’Épargne branch. A total of 1,335 kits were distributed to players and volunteers.

In 2026, the initiative expanded to cover all of France thanks to the involvement of the 15 regional Caisses d’Épargne. Support was provided to 45 new clubs, equipping 420 adult members, 720 youth, and 90 volunteers.

An adidas sponsorship for two teams

Each club receives adidas uniforms for two of its teams, including 24 jerseys and shorts for youth players, 28 for adults, and tracksuits for volunteers.

A More Inclusive Handball

The selection process gives priority to clubs that offer BabyHand or Handensemble programs for people with disabilities. In this way, Caisse d’Épargne supports a sport that is more inclusive and accessible to everyone.

Build a relationship of trust with local communities

The initiative allows the bank to reach out to families and local stakeholders and to highlight its commitment to community engagement and solidarity. The clubs are sharing their experiences using the hashtag #UtileAuxClubs.

Through its “Utile aux clubs” initiative, Caisse d’Épargne demonstrates that it is possible to support handball at every level, from the French national teams to neighborhood gyms.
