Defender, the official car of the TOP 14, continues its commitment to amateur teams by offering match outfits to the U12 "Defender of Tomorrow".
A major player in professional rugby, with a partnership with RWC 2023 and TOP 14, the Defender brand has also been supporting amateur rugby in France for several years. Over the past 4 years, Defender has supported the U12 teams of nearly 200 clubs throughout France.
What's more, it has also launched a Defender of Tomorrow* operation in 2023; a call for applications to select the children who will take to the pitch at the 2023 World Cup, along with the team captains.
As part of its Defender of Tomorrow* program, Defender House continues to support U12 teams that have a societal and/or environmental impact.
In collaboration with Gilbert, 77 teams have been selected throughout France (mainland France and French overseas departments and territories) and will receive a set of 17 match kits. In the form of a call for applications, clubs had until October 16 to register and detail the impact projects they were carrying out: school support, welcoming people with disabilities, reducing waste within the club, etc.
From among the 600 U12 teams who applied on the operation website, and after studying their social and environmental commitments, here are the editors' favourites!
In partnership with the associations Terres en mêlées and La Croix Rouge Monégasque, the club collects and ships clothing to Madagascar and Burkina Faso. In particular, it has forged close ties with CPI Isotry, a historic club in Antananarivo. Since 2021, the club has also been organizing the Rugby Solidaire Challenge, a day dedicated to health rugby offering a team circuit, marked out by 6 events focusing on the basics of rugby. The event is open to club members and local businesses.

Each season, one of the winning U12 teams is selected for its involvement on social networks and wins the ultimate experience: bringing its young players to the stadium for the Top 14 Final and allowing them to touch the Brennus Shield and live a powerful experience, close to all those offered by Maison Defender!
A commitment to rugby that has lasted for over 10 years and supports the entire pyramid, from amateur pitches to the biggest teams.
Michael Pierre: "For over ten years, we've been committed to all forms of rugby, whether professional or amateur. That's why we initiated the "Defender of Tomorrow" program, aimed at young rugby enthusiasts.
As a first step, we selected the mascots who will accompany the captains of all the teams at the Rugby World Cup France 2023. Children aged 7 to 13, rugby fans who are also socially committed. In a second phase, our #TeamDefender U12 operation, which for the last 3 editions has equipped U12 teams across France, becomes a #DefenderOfTomorrow program too. We want to equip U12 teams -with responsible, recycled Gilbert outfits- that take positive action for the environment and their community. We're looking forward to discovering some great projects."
They're dedicated, strong-willed people who want to make a difference and have a positive impact on the people around them or in their community. Whether it's protecting the environment, caring for a loved one, defending equal opportunities or helping to combat bullying at school... It's a global citizen who helps to make their environment a better place and acts to improve the lives of those around them.
So, there are many ways to be a Defender Of Tomorrow, but there's no doubt that it's always someone who goes the extra mile to help others or a cause close to their heart.
