Since January 2017, Butagaz has committed its brand to handball. First with the French national teams, then with the Ligue Féminine de Handball (LFH) by committing to the first naming partnership (title partner) of a women's league in France: the Ligue Butagaz Energie was born. Two of the sport's brightest stars, Cléopatre Darleux and Nikola Karabatic, took the initiative, as did 1,700 young players in amateur clubs sponsored by the brand and its mascot, Bob.

Butagaz and its mascot return to amateur football for a 3rd season

Following the call for applications in early September, nearly 3,000 entries were received in just 3 weeks - a record for the operation!

Via act for sport, Butagaz was able to select the 30 new winning clubs on the basis of geographical criteria (close to the brand's production sites and subsidiaries), internal requests and finally, new for this 3rd season, according to the actions undertaken in favor of energy transition! This last criterion was used to study the behavior of clubs as part of the Eco-responsible Handball Guide set up by the French Handball Federation.

Thanks to this third season of the #AuPlusPrèsDesClubs campaign, Butagaz has reached the symbolic milestone of 100 clubs sponsored since the operation was launched in 2021! Clubs will receive full adidas kit for two of their youth teams, and will be invited to take part in challenges to benefit from exclusive experiences - reserved for their licensees and volunteers!

Philippe Bana, President of the French Handball Federation: "The FFHandball is proud to support another edition of Butagaz's #AuPlusPrèsDesClubs operation. This year, the operation will enable 30 amateur clubs and over 730 young people to represent their clubs and proudly wear their club's colors. For each edition, Butagaz's commitment and support enable handball to shine throughout the country, whether amateur or professional. It's a real source of pride for the French Handball Federation to see these initiatives come to fruition."
According to Natacha Cambriels, President of Butagaz SAS: " The record number of entries this year testifies to the importance of supporting amateur sport, which is firmly rooted in local communities and shares many common values with Butagaz. Many of the 3,000 applicants have concrete eco-responsible projects and, like Butagaz, are taking part in the major challenge of the energy transition. We're proud to be able to support these clubs, going out to meet them and following the progress of their eco-responsible projects throughout the season! Seeing the enthusiasm of the youngsters as they receive their outfits is the concrete expression of the AuPlusPrèsDesClubs project ".
